Identifying widely accepted expressions marks the beginning of translation and interpreting work, while reviewing and refining terminology completes the process. With the rise of various Large Language Model (LLM) tools and the widespread speculation that LLMs may replace many translators and interpreters in the market, newcomers to the field may feel uncertain about how to navigate the constantly evolving landscape of the profession. Given the undeniable importance of terminology work, the question arises: How well do LLM tools perform in one of the most time-consuming aspects of translation and interpretation work—terminology extraction (TE)?
